20. Xavier Musketeers

As many expected, first-year head coach Sean Miller took a roster that had some talent on it already and made the Sweet 16. But with all five starters set to leave, the Musketeers needed to go out and land a few key contributors for next season.

The big name to watch is Dayvion McKnight. He’s a point guard from Western Kentucky, coming off a year averaging 16.5 ppg and 3.8 apg. He comes from the same Conference USA league that Souley Boum did and that worked out well for Xavier.

Joining him in the backcourt is Quincy Olivari, another Conference USA transfer. The 6’2 shooting guard averaged 18.7 ppg and 5.9 rpg, shooting 36% from three-point range. He had four games of at least 30 points, including 34 points and 12 rebounds against McKnight and Western Kentucky.

Continuing the CUSA theme, forward Abou Ousmane is coming off an NIT title at North Texas, averaging 11.1 ppg and 6.0 rpg in 34 starts. The 6’10 big man is one of the best defensive frontcourt players from the portal and should be an instant impact player. And Indiana transfer Logan Duncomb should provide more depth inside as well.

The Musketeers had a lot of holes to fill this offseason and they already have, which certainly makes them one of the early winners of the NCAA Basketball transfer portal saga.
