NCAA Basketball: Ranking final 6 teams for Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson
No. 1 Hunter Dickinson transfer option – Kansas Jayhawks
Any time Kansas is involved in an NCAA Basketball recruitment, there’s a great chance that they’re the No. 1 option for a transfer/prospect. And that’s because they’re the winningest program of the modern era and have made the NCAA Tournament for the past 20+ years, including winning the 2022 national championship.
Head coach Bill Self is the top coach among those involved and has a number of players that have gone on to the NBA. They’re a true “blue blood” that dominates the Big 12, considered to be the toughest conference in the sport in the last few years. And while I argued that Jahmir Young of Maryland is the best overall guard among the six teams, Dajuan Harris is right up there as both an elite passer and defender that’ll get Dickinson the ball instead of trying to score.
There really aren’t true concerns with this roster. Harris is the ideal point guard to play with, while transfers Nick Timberlake and Arterio Morris bolster the offense. And while forward KJ Adams doesn’t stretch the floor much, he’s such as good defender and overall glue guy that it wouldn’t be as clanky a fit as with the others on this list.
Just like I did with Maryland vs Georgetown, Kansas would have the edge over Kentucky if Hunter Dickinson wants to go to a juggernaut program. Not only are the Jayhawks the national brand that suits his personality, they simply have the fewest issues and concerns, making them the clear top option for the top available transfer.
