21. Keyonte George – Baylor Bears

2022-23 season stats: 15.3 ppg and 2.8 apg

The 6’4 shooting guard was one of the top freshmen scorers in NCAA Basketball, going for 20+ points 11 different times. One of them included 32 points and seven rebounds against West Virginia. The concern with George is that at times he’s only offensive-minded and isn’t much of a passer or defender. So he’ll have to be a quality scorer in order to earn minutes in the NBA.

20. Maxwell Lewis – Pepperdine Waves

2022-23 season stats: 17.1 ppg and 5.7 rpg

Lewis is a 6’7 wing that had a breakout campaign as a sophomore to lead the Waves in scoring. The team didn’t win much but that has more to do with the coaching than raw talent. This is a player that will thrive on the open court and Lewis is an elite shot-maker on offense that can be just good enough on defense to be a future starter in the league.

19. Kobe Bufkin – Michigan Wolverines

2022-23 season stats: 14.0 ppg and 4.5 rpg

Another sophomore breakout star in NCAA Basketball was Bufkin, who shot nearly 50% from the field and was a good three-point shooter. The 6’4 guard had seven games of 20+ points, including 28 against Wisconsin in overtime. Bufkin is a quality athlete with great promise on offense and if paired with better PG play has a good future.
