West Virginia Basketball: 10 potential transfer options to fill 2023-24 roster
Noah Williams – Washington Huskies
2022-23 season stats: 8.7 ppg and 3.1 rpg
Williams is a four-year starter at both Washington and Washington State with a near 10 ppg scoring average overall. He’s a solid off-ball scorer, though a career 37% shooting percentage from the field leaves a lot to be desired.
Williams hasn’t had much interest publically since entering the portal but he does have around 80 total starts as a power conference player. If nothing else, he could serve for depth purposes off the bench as a 10th or 11th man that is capable of giving them something off the bench.
Alexis Yetna – Seton Hall Pirates
2022-23 season stats: N/A
In the three years that Yetna has played at both South Florida and Seton Hall, he’s averaged 10.2 ppg and 8.4 rpg. When healthy, the 6’8 power forward is an elite rebound and very good defender, while also being a double-digit caliber scorer. The problem is that he has missed three years, two of them due to injury issues.
Yetna has reportedly visited West Virginia Basketball and has also been linked to both Ole Miss and Fairfield. His injury issues are definitely a concern but with Mitchell gone and possibly Okonkwo too, there’s no depth at the power forward position. When healthy, Yetna is good enough to play and play well at the Big 12 level… with “healthy” being the ultimate keyword.
