Baylor Bears

Few NCAA Basketball programs have as much recent success with scoring guards as Baylor, having sent several to the NBA in the past couple of years. They’re hoping to do the same with Ja’Kobe Walter, a five-star incoming freshman and projected starter. There’s also VCU transfer Jayden Nunn, as well as redshirt sophomore, Langston Love.

As good as Edgecombe is, he’s not on the level of Tre Johnson. And Baylor is reportedly in a good position to potentially land the five-star shooting guard. If that were to occur, it’s hard seeing how this prospect in question would get minutes in his first year at least.

Duke Blue Devils

There are plenty of quality selling points one can make about Duke to any prospect. The bevy of past NBA Draft picks, being on a national stage and etc. The question of course is whether they’re a viable pathway for any given recruit in question. And right now, that’s a big question if you’re Edgecombe.

The Blue Devils already have top-40 shooting guard Darren Harris part of the 2024 class, joined by five-star wing, Isaiah Evans. And even if both Tyrese Proctor and Jeremy Roach leave after next season, there are still freshmen Caleb Foster and Jared McClain that’ll likely be around. And this could all be a moot point in the end if top overall prospect Dylan Harper commits to Duke as well.
