25. Justin Black

Morgan State was in decent shape about a decade ago and Black is a big reason why. A 6’2 combo guard originally from St. Louis, he was raised in Washington DC, and starred at the famous DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland. Black arrived at Morgan State back in 2010, meaning we’re just considering his accomplishments from his senior season.

He showed growth with each year and really came on strong as a senior, averaging 18.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game to lead the Bears. He led Morgan State to a 3rd place finish in the MEAC and saved his best for last. Black set consecutive career-highs at the very end of his career in the MEAC Tournament, scoring 29 points on Florida A&M in the quarterfinals and 30 points against Coppin State in the semifinals, though the Bears would fall short the next day.

Black finished 2nd in the conference in scoring and steals and was named First Team All-MEAC as a result. He had decent figures from around the court and was the big piece late in his career for the Bears. He didn’t lead his program to the Big Dance, coming up just short, but Black was a talented scorer and key weapon nearly a decade ago who’s contributions are not forgotten.
