14. Karvel Anderson

A 6’2 guard from Elkhart, Indiana, Anderson bounced around at a few junior colleges to begin his career, finding actual run at Glen Oaks CC in Michigan. In 2012, he was brought to Robert Morris by head coach Andy Toole and became an important part of the Colonials program for his final two seasons of eligibility, averaging more than 12 points a game in that first year.

We’re only able to look at his senior season today but it gives us plenty to consider. Anderson averaged 19.7 points per game and was an astounding 46% from outside the arc. He led the Colonials to an NEC regular season title, though they were upended in the conference tournament. Anderson wasn’t finished, as he’d score a career-high 38 points at St. John’s in a win in the first round of the NIT, putting a final bow on a season filled with scoring and great shooting.

One of the nation’s best shooters that season, Anderson’s work to lead Robert Morris to 22 victories got him named NEC Player of the Year. He was the league’s top scorer, with 710 points, and led the league in a number of other offensive categories as well. After bouncing around looking for a home, he certainly found his place at Robert Morris and in the NEC, certainly making sure he’d be remembered for his hard work.
