NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing early contenders for 5-star wing Kon Knueppel

After bringing everyone back from a 29-win squad, Marquette is primed for a big year. But there’s a chance that they’ll lose most of the key pieces later, including starting shooting guard Kameron Jones and point guard Tyler Kolek. The team already has a pair of forwards part of the 2024 class, including Damarius Owens and Royce Parham.

The ideal scenario for the Eagles is to bring in Kneuppel to replace Jones as the primary scoring option. And he’d be a good fit. As one of the local options, it would be a massive recruiting win to keep an in-state target and more importantly, away from Wisconsin.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

It’s a complete roster rebuild for Notre Dame under new head coach Micah Shrewsberry but while next season could be rough, the year after could have potential. The program currently has a top-10 2024 class, thanks to landing a trio of top-100 prospects. One of them is top-50 wing, Sir Mohammed.

You can play both Mohammed and Kneuppel on the court together and they’d be nice compliments to one another. Plus, his shooting ability would be literally perfect for Shrewsberry’s system, coming off having the No. 1 three-point shooting squad in NCAA Basketball last season at Notre Dame. He may have to sacrifice some winning early on at this option but the five-star target could be the focal point of the offense potentially out of the gate.
