Patriot League Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
23. Cam Davis
A 6’0 point guard from Battlefield, Missouri, Davis played four seasons for Navy and really showed his talent near the end of his career. He arrived in 2017 and was a decent contributor as an underclassman before really taking a step forward in his final two seasons with the Midshipmen.
The potential was there early in his career, and Davis earned his spot in the starting lineup as a sophomore. During the pandemic-shortened season, which was his junior year, he’d average 16.3 points per game, taking that aforementioned step forward. As a senior, he led Navy to a 12-1 record in conference play while averaging greater than 17 points a night. That included a 34-point outburst in a win over American.
He’d earn Second Team All-Patriot honors as a junior and the First Team nod for his senior year. Davis was a consistent threat at the point for the Midshipmen, with decent numbers all over the court. He wasn’t going to wow you with his shooting numbers, but he was a consistent piece for Navy. He truly was a leader during a remarkable regular season, where Navy came up just short of the Big Dance in 2021.
