22. Clemson Tigers

One of the more underrated contributors on Clemson’s roster last season was Brevin Galloway. He improved greatly after transferring over from Boston College and was a double-digit scorer. Although he’s gone, the ACC team not only brought back two key guys but added a couple more as well.

Chase Hunter was the breakout performer on the team, doubling his scoring to 13.8 ppg and 4.5 apg, shooting 36% from three-point range. That includes 26 points against Florida State, along with 13 points and 11 assists versus Syracuse. Clemson also returns Alex Hemenway, who averaged 6.9 ppg while shooting 47% from deep, one of the best in NCAA Basketball.

The Tigers are hoping for big things from Joe Girard and Jake Heidbreder. Girard comes from Syracuse, a four-year double-digit scoring guard who averaged 16.4 ppg and 3.0 apg and can play off-the-ball next to Hunter. And Heidbreder is a 6’5 guard from Air Force who averaged 15.1 ppg, all while shooting 40% from deep.

Add returning guards Dillon Hunter and Joshua Beadle, there’s plenty of depth for Clemson to work with this season. They’ll need to be more consistent on both ends but Hunter himself is an all-league player that gives the whole roster a high floor and should make them compete for a tournament bid.
