Projected starting lineup

Point Guard: Jameer Nelson Jr.

Nelson is one of a few new faces to get to know with the Horned Frogs as he joins them to close out his college basketball career. He’s a strong-framed lead guard at 6-foot-2 who made his mark in the CAA over the past two seasons. He put up 20.6 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 3.6 apg and 2.4 spg on 44.5 percent shooting from the field this past season at Delaware. He’ll be relied upon to run the show for TCU in 2023-24.

Shooting guard: Avery Anderson III

Anderson brings his experience from Oklahoma State with him to the Horned Frogs lineup. He’ll give them another ballhandler along with Jameer Nelson Jr.. He’s capable of operating at the 1-3 spot after producing 11.1 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 3.4 apg and 1.5 spg on 39.9 percent shooting from the floor. He could very easily find himself in the starting rotation by the time January arrives given his prowess on the wing on both ends.

Guard/Wing: Chuck O’Bannon Jr.

O’Bannon returns looking to be an enforcer on the wing and in the painted area for the Horned Frogs with another year of eligibility still left. He produced 7.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.0 apg and 1.0 bpg as an all-around presence on the floor this past season for them. It’s hard to see him not in the mix, given their team’s potential depth.

Power Forward: Emanuel Miller

Miller returns as the team’s leading scorer after posting 12.3 ppg on 50.5 percent shooting from the floor. He continues to develop as an inside-out presence after shooting a career-high 39.2 percent from deep to go along with 6.5 rpg and 1.7 apg. Look for his defense to turn a corner with more experience surrounding him in his final season.

Center: Ernest Udeh Jr.

Udeh is another mover within the conference, moving from Kansas into the TCU lineup. He made 30 appearances as a freshman with the Jayhawks, averaging 2.6 ppg and 1.8 rpg on 75.6 percent shooting from the floor. Look for him to get the nod at center, backup up by Esaam Mostafa.
