25. Clemson Tigers

The best player on the team last year was Hunter Tyson, who led Clemson with 15.3 ppg and 9.6 rpg. The All-ACC forward’s departure certainly hurts the Tigers, along with Ben Middlebrooks transferring over to NC State. What’s good is that their second-best player is back and also happens to be a frontcourt player.

There was a scare entering last season with PJ Hall, who dealt with a knee injury in the offseason. But he only missed one game, averaging 15.3 ppg and 5.7 rpg, shooting 54% from the field and 40% from three-point range. His season-high performance was 28 points and eight rebounds against Louisville.

Two transfer forwards on the team include Jack Clark and Bas Leyte. Clark is a familiar face for the program, coming over from NC State. He averaged 9.0 ppg and 6.8 rpg and although a bit undersized, is one of the better rebounders in the ACC. Leyte comes from UNC Greensboro, producing 7.6 ppg and 4.3 rpg. He’s likely to serve as a backup center behind Hall.

With Ian Schieffelin, RJ Godfrey, and Chauncey Wiggins all coming back, Clemson has some good depth. It’s not going to replace what Tyson did but as long as Hall himself continues to play at an all-league level, Clemson will be fine inside.
