Key Reserves

Guard – John Mobley Jr. (Freshman)

A 4-star point guard from Utah, Mobley is a Top 50 prospect on the top freshman recruit from Diebler’s first offseason recruiting class. His trajectory could be interesting with the Buckeyes, projecting as a high-level scorer who can shoot the cover off the ball and also dish it out. He should have a chance to earn minutes backing up a much more experienced backcourt.

Guard – Taison Chatman (Sophomore)

Chatman came to Ohio State as a Top 40 recruit last season, though the opportunities weren’t aplenty in his freshman campaign. He saw the court in less than half of Ohio State’s games, averaging just 1.0 point and 0.5 rebounds per game. Another raw talent with scoring potential, Chatman should get more opportunities and moves up the depth chart, hoping to have that traditional sophomore surge.

Guard – Ques Glover (Senior)

Another Transfer Portal addition thrown into the mix, Glover comes to Ohio State after a pair of seasons each at Florida and Samford. A backcourt backup with the Gators, he became a major part of the recent success for Samford but missed all of last season at Kansas with a meniscus injury. He averaged nearly 20 points a game for the Bulldogs in last full season, but can be successful with just half of that production, becoming the veteran option off the bench for Diebler and company.

Guard – Evan Mahaffey (Junior)

After spending his freshman season at Penn State, Mahaffey transferred back to his home state and joined the Buckeyes last season. He was actually a full-time starter, putting up 4.3 points and 4.2 rebounds with solid minutes for the Buckeyes. With new additions, Mahaffey could put up similar production off the bench but will look to improve his offensive numbers.

Forward – Colin White (Freshman)

White is a 3-star forward from Ohio who could carve out a role with the Buckeyes this season or in the years ahead. He put up very impressive scoring and rebounding numbers at the high school level, with the Buckeyes hoping his defense doesn’t take too long to transition to the collegiate level.

Forward – Devin Royal (Sophomore)

Another role player returning from last season, Royal is another former Top 40 recruit who joined the Buckeyes and didn’t immediately have an immense role. He averaged 4.7 points and 2.4 rebounds last season off the bench with decent shooting touch and will look to take that next step backing up those new pieces in the frontcourt.

Center – Austin Parks (Sophomore)

The Buckeyes are leaning heavily on young talent in the frontcourt and Parks is another piece who might earn some run. We didn’t see very much of him last season, as the 6’10 center played just 20 minutes across nine games for the Buckeyes. With the depth chart much different, he could have a much bigger spotlight on him.
