Notre Dame Fighting Irish - Grade: C+

The good news for the Irish is that they’re bringing back the top four scorers from last season, including the rising sophomore duo of Markus Burton and Braeden Shrewsberry. Burton has a chance to be a candidate for ACC Basketball Player of the Year so his return was crucial for the program.

Notre Dame also added to the backcourt strength, landing Princeton transfer guard Matt Allocco, as well as a top-25 incoming freshmen class that includes top-100 guard/wing prospects, Cole Certa and Sir Mohammed. JR Konieczny and Julian Roper are back as well to give plenty of backcourt depth.

The frontcourt is whether the questions and concerns still lie. Tae Davis, the one legit forward from last season, is back but Carey Booth transferred out after his freshman year. They did land two frontcourt transfers (Burke Chebuhar and Nikita Konstantynovskyi) but both are mid-major imports with not a ton of production.

Had Notre Dame been able to land true impact bigs with proven power conference production, this roster could be able to take a big leap in the ACC standings. But they may be forced to use a lot of undersized small-ball lineups to succeed. Plus, it's important to note that Burton may end up being a pro prospect and not around for much longer.
