Clemson Tigers - Grade: B

One of the key NBA Draft decisions to watch in ACC Basketball was PJ Hall, how nearly left the team a year ago for the pro ranks. But after leading the team with 18.3 ppg and 6.4 rpg, he made the move to leave. Senior guard Joe Girard had no eligibility left, leaving Clemson without its two leading scorers.

But they got some very good news with the return of Chase Hunter, who averaged 12.9 ppg and 3.2 apg. He’ll be one of the better guards in the ACC next season and will be paired with Jaeden Zackery, a starting guard from Boston College who himself was a double-digit scorer.

How you view the offseason for the Tigers comes down to the revamped frontcourt without Hall. Ian Schieffelin, who nearly averaged a double-double last season, is back, joined by a trio of transfers. Viktor Lakhin was a starting center at Cincinnati, while Christian Reeves comes from Duke as a potential breakout candidate inside. Myles Foster gives them versatility, coming over from Illinois State.

There’s plenty of frontcourt depth to help replace Hall’s production, while Hunter and Zackery should be solid in the ACC. If the incoming freshmen guards can have an impact out of the gate, this team should have NCAA Tournament aspirations.
