Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Big Ten has had plenty of ups and downs altogether, including some surprises and disappointments. Nebraska could be declared as a “surprise”, especially after this past week. They hosted No. 1 Purdue in the best chance at a signature victory.

In one of the best shooting performances of any team this season, the Cornhuskers shot 51% from the field and a whopping 14/23 shooting from three-point range to pull off the 88-72 upset. Keisei Tominaga (19 points) and Rienk Mast (18 points) led them in scoring, while CJ Wilcher had 16 off the bench. Considering the margin of victory, this win did wonders for their overall metrics.

Nebraska couldn’t keep the momentum, getting destroyed on the road at Iowa, losing 94-76. The good news is that while the Hawkeyes haven’t been very good overall, they have a NET ranking below 60, making it a clear Quad 1 loss for now.

Nebraska has a 3-4 record against the top two Quad categories and doesn’t have a single bad loss to this point. They have another road game coming up against Rutgers, along with Northwestern coming to them. I split would be okay but two wins would be a nice ahead of a tough stretch of games at the end of the month.
