Key Players

There are playmakers on all fourteen teams in the Big Ten; we’re just narrowing our focus to a few who could lead their teams on runs all the way to the title.

Trey Calvin – Wright State

A fifth-year senior who spent all five seasons at Wright State, Calvin is having another incredible year leading the Raiders. He’s averaging 19.6 points and 4.3 assists per game to lead Wright State to a tie for third in the league. Calvin had a few 30-point outings earlier in the season and ranks among the Horizon League’s leaders in assists, steals, and free throw percentage.

Tristan Enaruna – Cleveland State

Previously a bench piece at Kansas and impactful guard at Iowa State, Enaruna’s fifth and final collegiate season has been his second with Cleveland State. Building on last year’s success, he’s averaging 20.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game to lead the conference in points and field goals made. Enaruma has had a few double-doubles and has scored at least 20 points in each of the Rams’ last eleven games.

Trey Townsend – Oakland

A 6’6 forward from nearby Michigan, Townsend has started every game during his four seasons with the Golden Grizzlies but this has been his finest effort. Townsend was named Horizon League Player of the Year after averaging 16.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while leading Oakland to the regular season title. He’s just a few weeks removed from a 22-point, 17-rebound effort against Robert Morris and has the Golden Grizzlies primed for a March run.

Marques Warrick – Northern Kentucky

Another successful season for Warrick, now four years into his Northern Kentucky career, saw him average 19.9 points per game for the Norse. While some of his shooting numbers are down this season, Warrick continues to be a high-powered scorer, putting up 39 just a few days ago against Wright State. Notably, he was also last season’s Horizon League Tournament MVP.
