The Huskies’ third championship team came in 2011 in the great head coach Jim Calhoun’s 25th season. When Napier and Giffey were just freshmen, the team was filled to the brim with young talent.

Kemba Walker was the greatest Husky on the court – if not the greatest player in the nation – that season and was one of UConn’s team captains alongside fellow guard Donnell Beverly.

The nationally ranked and No. 3 seed Huskies took down underdog Butler in a 53-41 barn burner of a national championship game.

During the 2010-11 season, UConn wasn’t the insane offensive force that the Huskies are right now and the team certainly wasn’t blowing out team after team by 30 points.
