25. Utah State (14-1)

During the opening weekend of the season, Utah State lost in overtime on the road at Bradley. That is Utah State’s lone blemish of this entire season and they’re so close to still being among the unbeaten teams. There haven’t been many great opponents on the schedule, but these Aggies keep winning and certainly did that this week.

Mountain West play began on Tuesday, with the Aggies heading to Air Force and coming away with an 88-60 win. It was one of their most efficient offensive performances of the season, as Utah State shot 63% from the field, led by Great Osobor’s 32-point, 9-rebound effort. The Aggies got their most impressive win of the season on Saturday night, with a 77-72 win over a ranked Colorado State team. Osobor led the way with 20 points and 14 rebounds while Mason Falslev put up 18 points.

Thirteen consecutive victories have the Aggies in an enviable position and playing some of their best basketball in early January. The MWC is loaded with talent and Utah State came up big in their first matchup with one of their elite conference rivals. We’ll see just what the ceiling is for these Aggies under first-year coach Danny Sprinkle, but the early returns are fantastic. Next week features Wyoming at home and a trip to Las Vegas.
