21. Dayton Flyers - 21-5 (11-3 Atlantic 10)

After home wins over Duquesne and Fordham, Dayton went on the road to take on George Mason, one of the few programs in the A-10 that has had consistent success over them over the years. It was in Virginia, a chance for new coach Tony Skinn to get his first signature victory.

The Flyers had a six-point halftime lead and were largely in control for the first 25 minutes. However, the Patriots, with a balanced offensive effort, scored 44 points in the second half to come back and win 71-67. Guard Baraka Okojie finished with a career-high 19 points, while Keyshawn Hall went for 17.

It was another great game from DaRon Holmes, leading all scorers with 26 points and seven rebounds. He ended up being the lone double-digit scorer in the game, with Koby Brea second with nine points, all coming from three-point range. It’s the third road loss for the Flyers in league play, all coming against the top six teams in the conference.

Since it’s not a bad loss, Dayton will remain ranked for now. But if they lose to Loyola-Chicago on the road next week, it’ll be the final nail to leave the league without a team ranked. They have a home battle with Davidson before, a team that has been playing better as of late.
