NCAA Basketball: Top 30 players remaining in transfer portal for 2024 offseason
3. Jaxson Robinson - BYU Cougars
2023-24 season stats: 14.2 ppg and 2.5 rpg
The 6’8 wing may have gone from a starter to the bench but Robinson thrived as a senior at BYU, leading the team in scoring and earning Big 12 6th Man of the Year honors. Some of his top-scoring games include 28 points against Denver and 25 versus BYU in the NCAA Tournament. Robinson is in the NBA Draft process but if he comes back, Kentucky, where Coach Mark Pope has since gone to, could be a top option to watch.
2. Wooga Poplar - Miami Hurricanes
2023-24 season stats: 13.1 ppg and 4.8 rpg
The 6’5 guard is a two-year starter at Miami, shooting a combined 38% from deep, including four games with at least 20 points. Poplar also had a trio of double-doubles and is an underrated all-around talent. As one of the top pure shooters in the portal, Poplar has gotten plenty of interest among the high majors and seems to have a fairly open recruitment at the moment.
1. Coleman Hawkins - Illinois Fighting Illini
2023-24 season stats: 12.1 ppg, 6.1 rpg, and 2.7 apg
The 6’10 forward is one of the more versatile frontcourt players in NCAA Basketball, shooting 37% from three-point range and also was an all-conference caliber defender. Hawkins had five games of at least 20 points, including a career-high 30 in a win over Iowa.
There’s a strong chance that the senior big man ends up staying in the NBA Draft but if he doesn’t, Hawkins will be one of the top players available, capable of playing both the four and five-spots.
