Another freshman checks in at the number eight spot, this time from a little further south. One of UCLA’s freshman phenom, Kyle Anderson was in the right place at the right time against Arizona in the Pac-12 semifinal in 2011. The top-seeded Bruins had the ball with just under a minute left and the game tied at 64.
Fellow freshman Jordan Adams launched a three with 26 seconds left came up short but Anderson was crashed the boards and layed it in with just 22.1 ticks remaining, giving UCLA the game-winner. There was time left on the clock and Arizona got a good look, but Solomon Hill missed a jumper and UCLA captured the Pac-10 Tournament title.
It was the Bruins’ third win over Arizona that season.
