SF Scottie Lewis, Ranney School

The first top-10 recruit in this article, Scottie Lewis checked in at No. 10 in 247Sports most recent Composite rankings (June 6). A superb athlete with an elite first step and tremendous explosiveness, Lewis is a two-way threat on the wing. In addition to being a dangerous scoring slasher on one end, Lewis is tenacious on the defensive side. He seems always eager to take on the most difficult matchup and, to quote teammate Bryan Antoine, he is “the only player that plays hard on defense. He just plays 110 percent both offense and defense.”

In addition to being an excellent athlete, Lewis has a smooth shooting stroke that allows him to be a threat both in attacking the basket and in spot-up situations. He is a versatile talent and one that definitely deserves to be recruited by the best of the best.

Lewis had this to say about his relationship with Duke (247Sports):

"“I hope to make an unofficial visit there, and then they might be one of my official visits as well. When Coach (Jon) Scheyer and Coach K came to my school and talked to me about Duke, they told me how special it was. Also, Joey Baker is one of my best friends and he has told me all about Duke. Along with him, I have known R.J. Barrett since middle school and Trevon Duval and Tre Jones as well. They have all told me how great the campus is, and how great the coaches are, so it is a school I like a lot.”"

Duke is among the seven schools still in the running to potentially land Lewis. Florida, Harvard, Kentucky, St. John’s, Stanford, and Villanova are the others. Despite the statement above, though, the Blue Devils are not trending in 247Sports’ crystal ball predictions for Lewis. The nine predictions that are out right now are equally distributed to Villanova, Florida, and Kentucky.

Coach Scheyer is the lead recruiter once again for Duke.
