5. Mike Brey, Notre Dame

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish missed the NCAA Tournament, but consider it a rare down season from head coach Mike Brey and company. Brey has led the Fighting Irish to 12 NCAA Tournament appearances since arriving as head coach in 2000-01.

He’s won over 400 games with Notre Dame since becoming their head coach, leading them to a 403-202 record (.666) as he enters his 13th season at the helm. Their streak of tournament appearances ended at three after they posted a 21-15 record last season, but they still managed to finish 8-10 in the ACC given the odds.

Brey dealt with an injury to his best player (Bonzie Colson) in 2017-18 and it took its tool, although the team still managed to win 20+ games. They will lose five seniors as a new season approaches which will make for an interesting approach to next season. Notre Dame will be a young team in 2018-19 but with Bray leading the charge, they shouldn’t worry about much.
