Bracketology Winners: Clemson, Ohio State quietly moving up
Texas Longhorns
After dropping three of their prior four games, Texas entered this past week as a team dropping out of bracketology fields. Over the past few days, though, head coach Shaka Smart got his team right back on track with a couple of big wins. First, they defended their home court while taking down the quickly-rising Baylor Bears. Texas dispatched Baylor by double-digit points in the matchup and should go down as one of their better wins on the season. Additionally, the Longhorns then responded by securing one a road win over West Virginia. And while the Mountaineers have struggled this season, this victory marked Texas’ first road win since Jan. 2 (had lost their prior five away games).
TCU Horned Frogs
Sticking with the Big 12, TCU also snagged two wins to recover from a tough stretch. From a bracketology standpoint, TCU’s seeding throughout this season has been kept relatively low due to their lack of great wins. The Horned Frogs have held a superb record throughout this season and now they finally have a resume-building road win as well. This came in the form of a massive performance in Hilton Coliseum to take down a very strong Iowa State team. It is hard to argue with the idea that this was TCU’s best win on the year and it came on the heels of a home win over Oklahoma State earlier in the week.
