8. Tennessee Volunteers

After starting the season at 23-1 and climbing to the No. 1 ranking in the country, Tennessee has now dropped two of its last three games and they are starting to fall. The Volunteers are, in my opinion, still one of the best teams in the country but their weak overall strength of schedule during the middle of the season is starting to come back to hurt them. With a difficult closing stretch, we will quickly learn if Tennessee still belongs as one of the top title contenders or if they will continue to drop down the rankings.

7. Houston Cougars

Houston has been arguably the most consistent team in the entire nation. With just one loss for the entire season, the Cougars have been flat-out dominating opponents for most of the year. To summarize how the team has been so successful this season, head coach Kelvin Sampson has implemented an outstanding defensive scheme and their offense boasts enough firepower to win close games when needed. For those who have not watched much of the Cougars so far this season, it is time to take note of how talented Corey Davis and Armoni Brooks are. Both guys can catch fire and light up the scoreboard in a hurry.
