19) Kyree Walker

Position: SG/SF
Height: 6-5
Weight: 200 lbs
High School: Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix, AZ)
Considering: Arkansas, Kansas, Michigan, Oregon, UCLA, and China

Scouting Report: Walker is a big, strong, physically mature player who uses that strength to his advantage. He’s great on the interior, both finishing around the basket and rebounding, because of that strength. However, he is a more-than-capable scorer from all three levels. And, while he can initiate the offense, Walker is a more natural fit playing on the wing.

Like many top high school prospects, Walker is at his best in transition when he can best utilize that combination of athleticism and strength. He has the potential to develop into a solid defender because of those traits as long as he’s committed on that end of the court.

Prediction: China. Walker originally committed to Arizona State after his freshman year of high school but backed off the pledge in October. There’s still a chance he will reclassify to the 2019 class and play his college basketball this coming season.

Many new coaches are getting in on his recruitment – Eric Musselman at Arkansas, Juwan Howard at Michigan, and Mick Cronin at UCLA – but he seems to heavily interested in his overseas options, namely in China. Walker reportedly has a $1 million offer from a Chinese team and Li-Ning has also offered him a shoe deal. My guess is he’ll end up there whether he reclassifies or not.
