. . . Desmond Bane. . player. 466

TCU has simply not received enough attention over the past few years. Of course, the Horned Frogs have been far from the nation’s most successful basketball program in their history but they are trending in the right direction and play in a high-major league. Expectations are once again fairly low for the program heading into 2019-20, but that does not mean Desmond Bane should continue to be overlooked. An All-Big 12 selection last season, Bane is a do-it-all guard that is hyper-efficient as well at 6-foot-5.

The Horned Frogs might not strike fear into opponents as a unit but Bane is certainly someone that nobody wants to match up with. Over the course of last season, the 6-foot-5 leader averaged 15.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game on ridiculous shooting splits of .502/.425/.867. That efficiency is flat-out insane for someone who carries so much of the offensive burden for his team.

It might be a long-shot, but there is a decent chance that Bane manages to reach the 50/40/90 club this season. He is simply that good at picking his spots offensively and finishing off each opportunity that he gets.

With that said, though, it will be difficult for Bane to put together a better season in 2019-20 compared to this last year. As a result, he will have a hard time carrying the Horned Frogs to the NCAA Tournament. He will need help from the rest of the roster in order to make that happen. Nonetheless, Bane is an efficient superstar that deserves to be recognized. Not many players can put up the numbers that he did last season.
