AAC Basketball: Ranking the top 10 players overall for 2019-20
4. G Laquincy Rideau (South Florida)
Rideau is one of the most well-rounded players in the conference and could be a dark horse AAC player of the year candidate. Rideau earned himself a spot on the third team last season as well as the AAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Averaging almost three steals per game which was good enough for sixth in the nation. Rideau makes other guards lives a nightmare on both ends of the court. Rideau stuffs the stat sheet in several different categories and if USF has a good year, he will likely be having his name thrown around for Player of the Year.
3. G DeJon Jarreau (Houston)
Jarreau came off the bench last season for Houston but is primed to have a huge season for Kelvin Sampson. The AAC Sixth Man of the Year will step nicely into a starting spot for the Cougars.
Jarreau has the ability to knock down the outside shot, he struggled a little bit last season but you have to imagine he had a shorter leash than he had at UMass. If Sampson lets Jarreau play his game he’s going to be a problem. Jarreau is similar to Rideau in the sense that he’s a guy who can do it all, he’s going to stuff the stat sheet every night.
Jarreau played in three summer tour games with Houston where he had close to a triple-double one night and 22 points the next. He’s going to be a stud for the Cougars this season who have an extremely deep backcourt.
