10. The Citadel

Record: 6-21 (0-16 SoCon)

Nothing is going right for The Citadel right now, nor does it look like things will head in the right direction for the rest of the season. Sitting at 6-21 overall and 0-16 in SoCon play, it is clear that they just do not have the talent to play at a high level.

One thing that sticks out when looking at this team is the fact that they have a backcourt with three guys that average in the double digits in scoring. The frontcourt seems to be the problem and unfortunately, there is no key player that can step up and dominate games to help them be more competitive in the league.

9. Virginia Military Institute

Record: 8-21 (3-13 SoCon)

VMI is not in a much better situation than The Citadel. In fact, two of their three wins in conference play were over the Bulldogs. Similar to the problems faced by The Citadel, they lack an individual player that can rise up in the clutch and pull them out of tough situations.

Last season, they had a great athlete in Bubba Parham. Despite the fact VMI was not that great last year either, Parham always allowed them to be competitive against the strongest teams in the league. Unfortunately for VMI, he is now at Georgia Tech.

There is not much of a chance for them to find much success in the SoCon the rest of the season, despite the fact they managed to pull off an upset against Western Carolina last week.
