Saint Mary’s Gaels

If going out west is an option for Garcia, Saint Mary’s would be a great fit. They lost key players Tanner Krebs and Malik Fitts this offseason, leaving a giant hole on the wings for the upcoming season. The Gaels could use someone like the Stony Brook transfer, who has a similar game to Fitts and could thrive in this kind of system.

While he may have a big role and could put up big numbers, Garcia would have to contend with being in the same league as preseason top-3 team Gonzaga. That would make going to the NCAA Tournament harder but head coach Randy Bennett has made it work multiple times before.

Syracuse Orange

Another scenario where a team has to deal with an unknown, the Orange already may have found their wing of the future in Illinois transfer Alan Griffin. Barring a waiver, he’ll likely have to sit out next season. Garcia would provide a one-year remedy in that area and would be a nice defensive fit in the 2-3 zone. Maybe not as good a fit as former leading scorer Elijah Hughes but for a team without much depth they might as well look at this particular player.

As the most prestigious school in the state of New York, this could be an alluring spot for Garcia to consider. And even if Griffin does get to play next season, Garcia can be another lethal 6th Man of the Year in the ACC and propel Syracuse back towards the NCAA Tournament.
