20. Jimmy Baron Jr. – Rhode Island Rams

Jimmy Baron Jr. was one of the most prolific shooters in the Atlantic 10 and one of the best three-point shooters to play in college basketball. The Rhode Island native played four seasons at the University of Rhode Island under his father,  Jim Baron. Baron currently holds many Atlantic 10 Conference records.

For example, he is the all-time Atlantic 10 leader in three-pointers made. He held the freshman record for most three-pointers made for five years, but it was broken in 2010 by Akeem Richmond.

Baron was known for his impeccable senior season where he led the Rams in points averaging 17.4 a game and starting all 34 games. Baron was known for his performance on the road against Duke. Although the Rams lost 79-82 against a talented Duke team, Baron scored 24 points and shot 80% from the field.

The 2008 Rams would finish second in the Atlantic 10 Conference with an overall record of 23-11. Baron was named to the 2009 Atlantic 10 First-Team. The Rams clinched the NIT Tournament that season as well. Baron would graduate from the University of Rhode Island in 2009 and begin his professional career overseas.

While many basketball fans may think of success only through the lens of an NBA career, Baron was quite successful for over a decade. Baron played 11 seasons overseas for teams in Turkey, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Lithuania, and Russia. He even won the EuroCup in 2013 with PBC Lokomotiv Kuban of Russia. Baron was also the Lithuanian leading scorer in 2017.

After an 11-year successful run, Baron Jr, retired from professional basketball as he moves on to a new career at IMG Academy as a skills coach.
