NCAA Basketball: 2022 4-star G Arterio Morris down to 5 schools

Oregon Ducks
Head coach Dana Altman has done an excellent job of reloading his talent cupboards via the transfer portal and for the 2nd-straight offseason, he has managed to secure strong talent. His top 3 players last year, Eugene Omoruyi, Chris Duarte, and LJ Figueroa all came via that path. This year Altman has signed De’Vion Harmon (Oklahoma) and Quincy Guerrier (Syracuse) in addition to 5-star center Nathan Bittle.
The Ducks do seem to be in a transition period towards a more frontcourt-heavy roster following the additions of Guerrier and Bittle to the group of Chandler Lawson, N’Faly Dante, and Franck Kepnang. The depth in the backcourt is good at the moment but is more susceptible to needing reinforcements in the near future. Being able to add Morris complements the defensive capabilities of the team’s frontcourt strengths over the next few years, while also providing offensive depth on the wings.
Oregon will likely get a couple of seasons with De’Vion Harmon at the helm, but a solid off-ball threat is not readily available on this roster in 2022. Will Richardson will have exhausted his eligibility by then and the team has not received any commitments from guards in the associated class. Landing Morris to be next in line for the team’s reigns will help to maintain the Ducks trajectory near the top of the conference.
