10. St. Joe’s Hawks – Grade: A

Sometimes, the teams that have the best offseasons are the ones that do nothing. And the Hawks haven’t added a single transfer this offseason but didn’t have to. They return almost everyone from last season’s roster, including Erik Reynolds (19.6 ppg) and double-digit scoring guards, Cameron Brown and Lynn Greer.

The only real loss was Ejike Obinna via eligibility but the Hawks also have a talented five-man incoming recruiting class. So they’re built for both next season and the future if things go well. There are some that still doubt Coach Billy Lange on the court but he can clearly build, and retain, a roster.

9. St. Bonaventure Bonnies – Grade: A+

After losing 99.8% of the team’s production, it looks like Coach Mark Schmidt needed two years to build up a new roster that can compete in Atlantic 10 Basketball. He was able to retain the top six scorers, including guards Daryl Banks and Kyrell Luc. More importantly, the team added two of the top incoming transfers in the league, Charles Pride and Mika Adams-Woods.

Pride was an all-league player at both the NEC and America East levels, including a 40-point effort two years ago. And while Adams-Woods never averaged double figures in four years at Cincinnati, he’s a proven point guard that can produce on both ends and only adds to the depth. The Bonnies look like a team that can definitely compete for a double-bye spot next season.
