NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 12 teams for 5-star big Chris Cenac
Louisville Cardinals
New coach Pat Kelsey had a strong offseason, landing many quality transfers in hopes of returning them to being competitive in the ACC. The next step is getting a marquee 2025 class. To this point, they haven’t landed anyone after missing a few targets. Still, there’s a need for a center, with BYU transfer Aly Khalifa being the only big man on the roster after this season.
LSU Tigers
As the hometown team, LSU will hope that staying home is essential for the five-star prospect. The program is still rebuilding under Coach Matt McMahon, who did land four-star forward commit Matthew Gilhool. There’s no question that Cenac can have a big role with the Tigers as a freshman, but if winning is a priority, other options will have a better sell than this one.
Michigan State Spartans
The program's center position has been viewed as a weakness these past few years. Longwood transfer Symon Zapala will be gone after this season, so there’s a need for another center, no matter what. Cenac would be effectively guaranteed a starting role here and would get to play for Hall-of-Famer Tom Izzo, who has plenty of history with frontcourt development.
